Hurricane Irene

I experienced my first hurricane since moving to the Bahamas this week. Irene came blowing strong with lashings of rain. Doug, Layla, my mum and I were safe in our shuttered home, and we are very grateful that there was very minimal damage to our Island of Grand Bahama.

We were without electricity and water for about 34 hours but we had cooled the house by turning on the air the day before and had charged all our ipads and loaded them up with movies.

So I spent my time playing with Layla and watching movies and tweeting.
